New life for a historic building

Around one and a half years after the start of the renovation and conversion work, the residential building at Gletschersteinstraße 53 is nearing completion. The first removal vehicles are scheduled to stop in front of the building in spring. A total of twelve apartments have been created in the apartment building. They are between 85 and 210 square meters in size and have modern furnishings.  An elevator has been installed in the listed building and the attic apartments are equipped with air conditioning.  A large garden with old trees belongs to the house. 

In 1923 the first tenants moved into the middle-class apartment building. In GDR times there were different uses. Before the beginning of the restoration, which was in accordance with the preservation order and brought back the glory of old times, the building stood empty for several years. The LWB has invested a total of around four million euros in the project.
